The vehicle chassis is subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause pronounced bending or twisting of the chassis and body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps limit these deformations.
