The vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can lead to significant twisting and deformation of the chassis, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the bodywork.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
