The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
In some cases, the transfer of mass in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This results in substantial deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce these loads and increase the stiffness of the lower part of the chassis.
