The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stress while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sharp acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant chassis bending and twisting, or body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis bending and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace helps to increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
