The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stress during dynamic driving. It is particularly stressed by the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When mass is transferred in a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to three times more force than the other. This causes the chassis to twist and deform, resulting in poorer tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
