The car’s chassis is subjected to significant loads during fast driving, mainly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to pronounced chassis twisting or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower brace helps reduce bending in this part of the body, thereby improving chassis rigidity.
