A car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This leads to significant bending, twisting and deformation of the chassis, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the bodywork.
