The vehicle chassis is one of the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. It is particularly stressed by the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This leads to significant chassis flex, or body deformation and torsion, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This front lower chassis brace is designed to increase the rigidity of the front section of the body and reduce unwanted flex during dynamic driving.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: Mercedes-Benz Cls I (C219), Mercedes-Benz E-Class III (W211/S211).
