The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. The result is significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace is designed to provide additional stiffness to the front lower section of the chassis.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: MG TF I.
