The vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace is designed to increase the rigidity of the front lower section of the chassis.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
