The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, resulting in loss of tyre grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing front lower chassis brace is designed to increase the stiffness of this area.
