A vehicle’s chassis is among the parts most heavily stressed by driving style. This is particularly evident when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to three times more force than the other. This causes the chassis or body to twist and deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps limit this movement of the body.
