When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can cause significant bending, twisting and deformation of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
