During fast driving, the vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the chassis or body shell to twist and bend, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the front lower section of the chassis and provide more predictable vehicle handling.
The product is intended for the Volvo V40 T4 1.6 4WD and T5 2.0 2WD facelift, model years 2012–2019.
