The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This occurs mainly because of the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to significant twisting and bending of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The reinforcement has 2 mounting points and is intended for the Volkswagen Passat B8 (TYP 3G) with a 1.8 TSI engine and 2WD.
