The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest stress during dynamic driving. This is especially pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant loads, bending and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis bending and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the dampers and helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the body.
