The car body is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads during sporty driving. These loads are caused mainly by the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the body to bend and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Bending and twisting of the body during cornering can impair the vehicle’s handling and cause understeer or oversteer. The front upper strut brace (strut bar) additionally connects the mounting points of the front dampers and helps limit unwanted body twisting.
- Design: front upper strut brace
- Number of mounting points: 2
