The vehicle body is one of the most highly stressed parts during sporty driving. During fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration, it is subjected to forces caused by the transfer of the vehicle’s mass.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to 3 times greater than the load on the other side. This causes body twisting and deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Body twisting during cornering can negatively affect vehicle handling, as it contributes to understeer and oversteer.
