The vehicle chassis is exposed to heavy loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during rapid cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes significant body flex and deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The interior brace helps increase body stiffness and limit its deformation.
