During fast cornering, heavy braking and intense acceleration, the vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle’s mass.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes chassis flex and deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can negatively affect the vehicle’s handling and cause understeer and oversteer.
