During fast driving, the car’s chassis is exposed to high loads, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes chassis flex or body deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The interior chassis brace helps increase body rigidity and reduce these effects.
