The vehicle chassis is exposed to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the chassis to twist or the bodywork to deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace additionally connects the suspension mounting points and helps increase body rigidity.
