The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis deformation and twisting, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can lead to poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace helps increase the rigidity of the lower part of the body.
