The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer when driving through a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in significant chassis flex or deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This brace helps increase chassis stiffness and limit its twisting.
- Design: mid lower chassis brace
