A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant twisting and bending of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This mid lower brace is designed to increase chassis stiffness around four mounting points.
