The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, as well as deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce undesirable chassis twisting and improve body rigidity.
