The vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to significant chassis flex or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps further connect the suspension mounting points and increase body stiffness.
