The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When weight is transferred in a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant chassis flex, deformation and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this area of the body.
