During fast driving, heavy braking and acceleration, the vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads due to the transfer of body weight.
When driving through corners, the load on one side of the vehicle can increase to as much as three times that on the other side. This causes chassis flex or body deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex when driving through corners can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace further strengthens the chassis in the mounting area.
