The vehicle chassis is heavily loaded during dynamic driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant chassis flex or body deformation and torsion, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex and torsion during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing middle lower chassis brace helps increase chassis rigidity in this area.
The design is intended for the Ford Fiesta ST VI/JA8 with a 1.6 engine, 2WD, 3-door body and manual gearbox.
