The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other side. This results in twisting and bending of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
