A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight can cause forces on one side of the vehicle to be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the chassis to twist or the bodywork to deform, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace helps increase body rigidity in the mounting area.
