The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is mainly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When driving through corners, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, resulting in loss of tyre grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The rear lower chassis brace helps further stiffen the body in the mounting area.
