The vehicle chassis is subjected to considerable loads while driving, mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and sharp acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. This can cause the chassis or bodywork to twist and flex, resulting in reduced tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps reduce unwanted body movement.
