The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads as a result of the way the vehicle is driven. This is particularly evident when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, as well as body deformation and torsion, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of the rear section of the vehicle.
The brace has 2 mounting points and is intended for BMW X3 (F25) vehicles with 2.0D 4WD and 2.0TT 4WD engines.
