The car’s chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts of the vehicle, as it is affected by body mass transfers during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to significant twisting and bending of the chassis, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace is designed to provide additional reinforcement for the lower section of the rear of the vehicle. The design has 2 mounting points.
