A vehicle’s chassis is subjected to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater chassis twisting and body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this area.
- Design: rear lower chassis brace
