The rear lower chassis brace is designed to reduce body flex and bending under heavy loads. The chassis is particularly stressed during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, when the vehicle’s weight is transferred between the wheels.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can cause increased chassis or body flex and consequently reduce tyre grip.
Excessive body flex when driving through a corner can affect vehicle handling and contribute to understeer and oversteer. The brace is installed on the rear lower section of the chassis and secured to 2 mounting points.
- Position: rear lower side of the chassis
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: Ford Kuga II (DM2).
