The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower brace helps increase chassis stiffness and improve vehicle responsiveness.
- Design: rear lower chassis brace
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: Ford Escape III (CD4), Ford Kuga II (DM2).
