The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. The result is significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsional twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing UR-RL2-691 is a rear lower chassis brace for the Hyundai Santa Fe II (CM). The brace has 2 mounting points.
