A vehicle’s chassis is the part most heavily stressed by the driver’s driving style. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight can cause one side of the vehicle to experience up to three times more load than the other. This causes the chassis or bodywork to bend and twist, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower brace is designed to reduce unwanted chassis twisting. It is attached at 4 points and is designed for 4th-generation Kia Optima K5 (JF) vehicles with 2WD and 1.6T, 1.7D, 2.0 and 2.0T engines.
Suitable for: Kia Optima IV (JF).
