The car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. These loads are particularly affected by the transfer of the vehicle body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes pronounced chassis flexing or deformation and torsional body twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace is designed to provide additional stiffness in this area.
