The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
During fast cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater chassis twisting and body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower brace helps increase the stiffness of the rear section of the chassis.
