The vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the chassis to twist, or the body to deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this area and improve vehicle responsiveness.
