The vehicle chassis is one of the most highly loaded parts, as it is affected by body mass transfers during fast cornering, hard braking and intense acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This causes significant chassis flex, deformation and twisting, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The rear lower chassis brace helps reduce unwanted body movement and improve the stiffness of the rear section of the vehicle.
