A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stress by the driver’s driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of bodyweight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer while cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the bodywork.
