The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and flexing of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace is designed to reduce these effects and increase the stiffness of the rear section of the vehicle.
- Design: rear lower chassis brace
- Number of mounting points: 2
- Fitting: for Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W211)
Suitable for: Mercedes-Benz E-Class III (W211/S211).
