The vehicle’s chassis is subjected to heavy loads during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration due to the transfer of the body’s weight.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to 3 times greater than on the other. This causes chassis flex and body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
