The vehicle chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts, as it is affected by transfers of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes chassis twisting and body deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to provide additional reinforcement to the rear lower section of the chassis and reduce its bending and twisting.
