The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, the transfer of weight when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to experience as much as three times more force than the other. This causes significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace provides additional stiffness to the rear section of the chassis. It has 2 mounting points and is intended for vehicles with a 2.0D engine and 2WD drive.
